I have 2 packs of 3-4 coyotes very near my home. I was walking my dog, a 95-pound (45 kg) golden retriever, when we came across them. To Tanner, the coyotes were just other dogs to play with. I got a little concerned when we were walking away from them. The coyotes were coming up behind us and were just about 20 feet (6 meters) away. The coyotes stopped when I faced them, but I started carrying a big stick and an air horn with me on every walk since.
